Police recovered the hanging body of a female student of Dhaka Medical College at one of its dormitory in the capital Wednesday morning.

The deceased is Jaya Kunda, 22, a fifth-year K-76 batch student of DMC, and she was found hanging from the ceiling in a room of Alim Chowdhury Chhatra Nibas, police said.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost in-charge Md Bachchu Mia said that the deceased’s fellows saw her hanging from the ceiling with a scarf in the room number 45 of the dormitory and immediately rushed her to the hospital’s emergency department at about 11:45am in an unconscious state.

He said that the doctors at the emergency department, after examining her, said that she was brought dead.

The police officer, referring to circumstantial evidences, suspected the case to be an incident of suicide.
